The doner kebab is one of the Germans’ most popular fast-food dishes: the country boasts 16,000 doner snack bars. Billions are made with the meat from the revolving skewer. The documentary GERMANY AND ITS DONER KEBABS (original title: DEUTSCHLAND, DEINE DÖNER) tells the success story of the cheap snack from a slab and asks: Just what exactly are we eating here? Because time and again doners are suspected of containing spoiled meat.
